Zagg Invisible Shield Review
By angrymoma
The Zagg Invisible Shield is a film that goes over your device. If you do decide to order this for your device let me just tell you that installing the Invisible Shield is HARD, it is really hard if it's your first time. You need a lot a patience. My suggestion for installing it, is doing it after a hot shower. This will eliminate the dust factor of the installation. Also for the corner edges they have to hold it for about 5 min, a better way is to let the spray dry a bit and then press them down, then just get a rubber band and wrap it around the corners. And another suggestion is just take your time, I order the Front and Back Shield and both of them took me over half and hour to install. So just be patience.
Pro's
The Pro's of this Product. It is really durable. If you search on youtube you can find videos of the Zagg guy's dropping bowling balls on it, stacking weightson it, trying to shove a pen through the shield, and a bunch of there stuff. It does offer very good protection. Since it's covering the device. It is pretty hard to scratch the film, and it kinda adds a little cushion on impact. The grip it adds it great. It is a noticable improvement but it doesn't add enough grip to have your pocket come out with you when your pulling it out of your pocket. The front it very easy to apply and the application solution gives you a lot a room for mistake.
Con's
The Con's of the Invisible Shield is that it doesn't cover the whole Iphone (don't know about the other ones) they leave the top and some of the side of the chrome bezel uncovered and the four corners on the back aren't covered. When you apply the shield there is an what people call and orange peel affect, which for me didn't go away. An orange peel affect is when the surface look a little lumpy like and orange peel. Also they say you can't scratch the thing I tried to scratch it and well it left a mark and I don't know how this happend, about a month later I noticed on the back some of the skin had been scratched off. After two months the corners started to peel off and collect dust which gradually started to peel the whole side off. The chrome bezel cover also started to move and collect dust. Another place that started to collect dust was the back four corners. The back is very hard to put on and if the film touches each other without the spray on solution it over the glue or what ever they have is going to one of the side it touch and it basiclly garbage. The application solution worrys the heck out of me when I was installing it. Liquid+ Exspensive Electronic Devies = @#$%
These things are just from my personal experiance. Remember it's alway easier to find bad things than good things. Would I recommend this product? Yes I would the payoff for your hard work installing it is well worth it, and the protection it phenomenal. There are some design flaws that they could fix to make it a REALLY good. But nothings perfect and this is no exception.
Durability 5/5 - The film is strong it isn't impossible to break but really close to it.
Protection
4/5 -There are areas that are not covered.
Button Access 5/5 - The buttons are really easy to access since it just a thin lay of film covering the Iphone.
Look 0/5 - Since you cant see it, it's a clear film.
Feel 5/5 - It feels really good adds a little grip and some bounce.
Overall 4/5 - Not including the Look part

I go Invisible Shield store in Brea Mall, Los Angeles County, and they Installed full my iphone 4 body. After 4 days back side my iphone start make bubbles and i drive back to fix it..They fix it..Again after 5 days i saw bubbles and shield came out from my iphone, because i put my iphone on vent holder in my car...I was angry and i trow it out from my window...This is saks..They charge me 40.00 for installation and nothing...Go buy INCIPio case...The best
The Zagg invisible shield is a waste of money and their lifetime warranty is a scam. I installed the unit on my Droid and within 3 weeks the edges were peeling off the corners. I ordered a warranty replacement (they charged $3.99 for shipping & handling). The item probably only costs them 25 cents to make, so they can replace them every day and still make money. If you read the warranty it pretty much excludes anything that happens to them. The replacement shield is already peeling off in less then two weeks. Their customer service sucks!
I have the droid Eris through verizon I work in a mine so I covered my whole phone. First time it lasted about a week and half before it started peeling had it replaced. Yesterday I finally got a chance to take my phone to verizon cause I was having some issues with it (phone sucks) And as soon as I handed them my phone I was told. Just so you know this protector you have on your phone automatically voids your warranty. I asked why she said cause they wet it to apply it. Then proceeds to figure out whats going on with my phone. Tells me that the problems I am having have nothing to do with moisture but my warranty is voided (on a 2 1/2 month phone) so I will have to do an insurance claim ($89) to have my phone replaced. No one at the zagg booth I went to told me it voids your warranty automatically...Not Happy
In two weeks the edges started peeling. The registry warranty process is a scam. Don't be a victum.
I have had the shield for about a month. Peeled off in 2-3 weeks and have been trying to get a replacement. Ordered one with $4 shipping charge and threat that if I dont return damaged one in 60 days, I will be charged full cost. It's been 11 days and no shield. Line is busy or 15 minute wait. Customer service experience has been poor at best. Product is unimpressive (peeled when I put it in a pocket). Don't bother-the frustration dealing with them is not worth it. My phone is a driod Milestone.
The Invisible shield is a waste of money and time. Left my iPad screen full of bubbles and lumpy. Don't buy it!
Do not use this shield on any touch screen product. It has a glare that makes the display useless in standard daytime light. I have ruined a Garmin Nuvi and Garmin Oregan because of this shield. The touch band will peel off with the screen if you ever want to remove it. Trust me do not use this product on a touch screen or any screen you do not want damaged. You are better off using nothing than looking a glaring light. I now have to purchase new displays for my Nuvi and Oregan. If you don't listen you will regret this purchase.
It does not have a glare :/ Not any more than the naked skin of a device. And peeling it off won't remove any touch band. The touch screen of a device shouldn't do that. If that's happening it's a problem with the device.
I just got this installed, yes sure out looks durable...but of course, its a think soft ugly lumpy plastic that makes your screen looks ugly and uneven. I thought scratch prevention has the purpose of letting your screen look good over time...well put this film on and you're screen will look crappy forever.
Since it is uneven - what they call pedant peel, it actually causes some blur and the screen is not as crisp a with a perfectly smooth screen protector I have to zoom in Web pages more to read them. I definitely wood not recommend this. Maybe its a good idea for the back of your phone, but not for the screen. There are better products put there.
people stop whining about this that and the other thing, if you want protection buy a hard case, this and any film is really only good for protecting the screen and it does a damn good job of that.
I installed it on my iPhone 4S, and the next day my phone blew up. Yes that's right, somehow some of the water got into the speaker hole beside the front facing camera, and shorted out the electronics inside. I turned on the phone in the following morning, and first thing I hear is a 'pop' and then smoke coming out of the speaker hole. WTF! Apple refuses to warranty it, and ZAGG customer support is ignoring my emails and phone calls.
Really enjoyed this hub. Thank you so much.

You have terrible spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I couldn't even finish the article.

I was able to use my IS for about a week and it started to peel off. I called their customer support and told me they'll replace it but will have to pay for the shipment. I guess free replacement isn't really free at all. I think that was $10 if I remember it right. Since then, I shifted to GadgetShieldz (http://www.gadgetshieldz.com/) which uses the same ultra-thin film (material) only cheaper and as durable as IS. Soap solution didn't come with the delivery as it is shipped only with white envelope, you'll have to do it by use of soap and water. I guess that's another factor why others are expensive as they are shipped in fancy packages.
